Seems I only log into the blog once in a blue moon. Something I need to change, I’m thinking…
It also seems that I am busiest at the this time of year.
This year, I only have 3 costumes on the horizon (at least for now).
I will be making a cowboy, pirate and Belle.
I recently cleaned out closet that holds my stash. Found some interesting fabrics in there that will make this costume season fun and frugal.
A few years ago, I had the pleasure of making kilts for a bunch of guys who were toasting to a buddy’s upcoming nuptials. At the time, I ordered 50 yards of red, black and white plaid. The company sent me 100 yards of fabric in error and wouldn’t take it back. I have made several things out of this hideous fabric and am now down to the last of it. It will make a great shirt for a cowboy! I also had a roll of black vinyl – I see chaps and a vest in this gem.
Then, I found some silvery, shiny, stretchy stuff – I am sure where it came from, but believe it was from Sir Fabrics in Fayetteville. I got to thinking that this would make a great buccaneer jacket. Add a shirt with ruffles, a hook, an eyepatch and a hat – We’ve got ourselves a cool pirate!
So far, nothing out of pocket.
Guess that means that my Halloween budget can be spent on YELLOW fabric – because as we all know, you must have the golden dress and NOT the blue one. Off to JoAnne Fabrics with coupon in hand.
